47th President-Elect Donald Trump returned to the Oval Office on Wednesday for the first time since 2021, marking a significant milestone his journey to reclaim the White House.
Trump met with outgoing President Joe Biden in front of a bevy of reporters chaotically shouting questions at the two men.
“Congratulations, and we’re looking forward to having a, like we said, a smooth transition,” Biden told Trump, extending a slow hand.
Funnily enough, Biden looked happier than he has been in months, routinely flashing a smile to the reporters in the room.
“Thank you very much,” President Trump said. “Politics is tough, and in many cases it’s not a very nice world, but it is a nice world today. And I appreciate it very much. [We will have] a transition that’s so smooth – as smooth as it can get.”
The president also met with House Republicans on Wednesday, amid a critical vote in the Senate which may determine today who the next Senate Majority Leader will be.
Trump’s trusted ally and new head of the incoming Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Elon Musk, traveled with the president on Wednesday.
