The Trump campaign responded this week to Joe Biden’s chilling remarks calling for the 45th president’s arrest with just a handful of days to go until Election Day.
“Joe Biden just admitted the truth: he and Kamala’s plan all along has been to politically persecute their opponent President Trump because they can’t beat him fair and square,” said Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt in a statement.
“The Harris-Biden Admin is the real threat to democracy. We call on Kamala Harris to condemn Joe Biden’s disgraceful remark,” Leavitt added.
Biden’s comment was made on Tuesday in New Hampshire during a political speech. “I know this sounds bizarre…we gotta lock him up,” he said.
A moment later, he attempted to backpedal, adding, “Politically, lock him up.”
Over the past year, President Trump has faced a litany of unprecedented legal cases amidst his campaign to reclaim the presidency – cases that were never brought until after he announced his candidacy in late 2022.
“They want to take away my freedom because I will never let them take away your freedom,” he told supporters during a speech earlier this year at Club 47 in Palm Beach, Florida.
He continued, “…They want to silence me because I will never let them silence me and in the end they’re not after me, they’re after you, and I just happen to be standing in the way. It’s my honor to do so.”
