President Donald Trump has spent a lot of time in 2024 running the podcast circuit in America, and it has been a huge hit with audiences.
Trump has participated in conversations with personalities like live-streamer Adin Ross, podcaster Theo Vonn, the NELK Boys, and even financial advice guru Dave Ramsey.
Spending time on podcasts has proven an excellent strategy for the Trump campaign. In 2016, the president took the world by storm by utilizing the mainstream media’s bombastic shock-jock nature to give him endless coverage. In 2020, the media attempted to take that tool away from him by censoring him, de-platforming him, and otherwise embargoing his voice.
In 2024, things have changed. Social media is a lot freer (thanks to platforms like Truth Social and Elon Musk’s X), and online podcasts and interviews have become the Gutenberg Press of modern America.
The president’s latest podcast appearance was shared October 18 by sports media outlet OutKick on the Maintaining with Tyrus show, hosted by George “Tyrus” Murdoch, a former pro wrestler.
On it, President Trump discussed why he fights so hard against the establishment, the attack on true manhood in America, and who has influenced him the most in his life.
“I just have great relationships with a lot of people…I don’t think it’s a narrative that the press likes,” Trump said, discussing why he doesn’t often discuss his special friendships with people like the late Nelson Mandela, or why he doesn’t talk about the many people he has helped in life.
“I love doing it, I don’t need praise for it, we all like a certain level of praise…but I just like helping people,” he added.
Tyrus said he had testimonies from “hundreds of employees” who had stories about Trump doing kind things like paying their medical bills and mortgages.
It was a touching moment, and President Trump demurely reiterated that the press just doesn’t like the “narrative” that he is a nice person.
On the subject of how men are under attack by mainstream culture, the president had a few thoughts to share, as well.
“Well, actually, manhood is under attack,” he said. “…The other thing under attack is religion. Religion is like the glue that kept this country together and so many people are mocking it, and it just kept our country together.”
A variety of other subjects were discussed, including new potential tax cuts for first responders, the security of public schools, and the important moment when President Trump stood from the podium on July 13, 2024, after being shot in the ear by a would-be assassin.
But on the issue of the presidential election, Trump firmly reiterated its importance.
He remarked, “I think is going to be the most important election in the history of our country…our country is going bad, the things we do, men playing in women’s sports, okay? … Having no borders, having elections where you’re not allowed to ask somebody whether or not they happen to live in the country.”
Trump referred to the current climate as “whacky” and said “we’re going to get it changed.”
