President Donald Trump on Monday swung by Sprankle’s Neighborhood Market in Kittanning, Pennsylvania ahead of his anticipated rally in Indiana, helping customers pay for groceries and even snagging a bag of popcorn for the road.
In a series of endearing video clips posted to social media by Trump’s deputy director of communications, Margo Martin, the president is seen interacting with shoppers and handing out cash.
He gave one mom of three a hundred-dollar bill. “It’s [the bill] going to go down a hundred bucks,” he said. “We’ll do that for you from the White House!”
Trump lightly perused the aisle of the grocery store and grabbed a bag of popcorn.
“We gotta get this,” he joked. “…I’ll be in Washington, D.C., hopefully in the Oval Office – I’ll send for popcorn.”
Countless supporters also lined the streets outside the market, hoping to catch a glimpse of the president. Locals waved American flags and held up Trump signs.
Inside, Trump also toured the grocery store and spoke with those working there about rising food prices.
Trump’s visit to the grocery store also came just after he participated in a roundtable with Pennsylvania farmers about stopping Communist China from buying up American farmland.
