A recent survey from Teach Coalition, an advocacy group for nonpublic school students, has found that Jewish voters in the critical battleground state of Pennsylvania are shying away from Kamala Harris.
The survey, conducted alongside the OU Advocacy Center, revealed that 67 percent of Jewish voters in New York and Pennsylvania “report being more likely to vote given the rise of antisemitism since Oct. 7th.”
The study also found that the Jewish vote in the Keystone State “moved a dramatic 31 points relative to Joe Biden’s 2020 national performance.”
The coalition reported Harris winning among Jewish voters at 49 percent in November 2024 whereas Biden was winning at 68 percent in 2020. That is a significant drop for Democrats.
The Jewish voting population in Pennsylvania could have a large impact on the presidential election. According to the Steinhardt Social Research Institute, there are nearly 300,000 Jewish voters in the Keystone State. The state is also worth 20 electoral votes.
Via the institute’s data, around 78 percent of Jewish adults in Pennsylvania are concentrated in eight congressional districts, and two-thirds of that population tends to lean Democrat.
The winning margin in the state has been razor-thin for the past two elections, with Trump winning there in 2016 and Biden eking out a victory in 2020.
Nationwide, Jewish voters support Harris at 65 percent, per September data from the Pew Research Center. According to former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer, this represents the lowest Jewish support nationwide for a Democrat nominee since 1988.
