President Trump spoke on Thursday afternoon in Potterville, Michigan, where he focused his remarks on the importance of reviving the American economy amidst plummeting household wealth and damaging inflation.
“I’m here today for a simple message for the American auto worker and the American worker: your economic nightmare will soon be over,” Trump said.
He discussed Kamala Harris’s current failed leadership and pointed out that she “gave us every single disaster that our country is facing right now.”
The president was in fine spirits on Thursday. He wore his signature red tie and was greeted with energetic enthusiasm from the crowd.
“Kamala’s made the middle class life unaffordable and unlivable and I’m going to make America affordable again in addition to [making] it great again,” Trump said.
He added, “I will be the American energy president…and it won’t even be hard. I can do it with a PEN!”
Other interesting issues the president commented on:
- The need to be competitive with China when it comes to artificial intelligence. “We’re going to need twice the electricity that we currently produce,” he said.
- He also warned against the ongoing trend of auto-makers building plants in Mexico. “We’re not going to let it happen,” he remarked. He vowed to bring those plants back to places like Michigan.
- Trump touched on electric vehicles. He said he didn’t have a problem with EVs, but noted that mandating them was the wrong move for a free market. He especially zeroed in on the concept of EV trucks. He said, “If you said to a child, ‘It doesn’t go far, it weighs too much…and they’re much more expensive.’ He would say, ‘Let’s go with diesel.’”
- Trump promised to cut energy costs in HALF within the first 12 months of taking office, by focusing on oil drilling, reactors, and just generally focusing on energy independence.
“Under President Trump, America’s future will be energy abundance, energy independence, and soon, we will be energy dominant,” he vowed.
