Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced his endorsement of President Donald Trump during an address to the nation on Friday, where he also announced the suspension of his presidential campaign.
Kennedy said the decision was very difficult, but he had “internal peace even in storms” due to his certainty that it was the right decision.
“Ultimately the only thing that will save our country and our children is if we choose to love our kids more than we hate each other,” he said while seemingly holding back tears.
“My dad and uncle made such an enduring mark on the character of our nation not so much for any particular policies that they promoted but because they were able to inspire our love for our country,” he continued.
RFK Jr. spoke at length about his passion for curing the problem of “chronic disease” among Americans and American children during his speech and noted that he was aiming at working with President Trump to be able to address that problem in the future. This seems to hint that RFK Jr will likely be part of the president’s prospective future administration.
“The goals that we could achieve if only we weren’t at each other’s throats – the most unifying theme for all Americans – is that we all love our children,” Kennedy said.
