Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Independent candidate in the 2024 presidential election, will drop out of the race today and likely endorse President Donald J. Trump, according to a court filing in Pennsylvania.
In the filing, Kennedy, along with running mate Nicole Shanahan, also requested to be removed from the Pennsylvania 2024 ballot.
Kennedy began his campaign as a Democrat and later pivoted to the Independent platform.
In his address to the nation on Friday, Kennedy said the Democrats historically stood against authoritarianism, censorship, colonialism, imperialism and unjust war.
He noted that the Democrat Party “became the party of war, censorship, corruption, Big Pharma, Big Tech, big ag, and big money.”
His decision to endorse Trump is significant, and it is very likely that Kennedy may appear in a cabinet position in a potential Trump administration in 2025, should he defeat Kamala Harris.
“This is smart coalition building from Trump, and an admirable decision from RFK,” said “Louder with Crowder” host and personality Steven Crowder on X.
He added, “There are vast ideological differences between the two but both realize the existential threat @KamalaHarris and @Tim_Walz pose to the nation.”
Kennedy has consistently captured about 2-4 percent of the vote in the 2024 presidential election polls, and with his purported incoming endorsement of Trump, those centrist and Independent voters will likely boost the president’s numbers nationally, giving him a good advantage over Kamala Harris.
