Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) announced the successful launch of their television-streaming tool on Truth Social for iOS devices, signaling a major step forward in the development of the free speech platform.
“We’ve hit a big milestone in our TV streaming rollout, with the service now available across the entire Truth Social platform—iOS, Android, and the Web,” said TMTG CEO Devin Nunes in a statement.
He added, “Our uncancellable CDN is delivering high-quality TV streaming to all Truth Social users. As we continue to test the service, we look forward to rolling out new Truth+ apps for over-the-top streaming to mobile devices and TVs.”
Truth+ allows users to access live-streaming on the Truth Social app. They will see a Truth+ streaming icon that will navigate to a page displaying content on different channels or boxed viewing windows.
According to the press release, the launch of Truth+ is part of TMTG’s phased rollout. They said they plan to begin rolling out streaming apps integrated into the Truth Social platform, including:
- Interactive 14-day electronic guide,
- Instant catch-up on shows or broadcast,
- Network DVR,
- Video on demand,
- Subscription on demand,
- Marketplace.
The company also said they want to unveil apps that allow its users to view streaming content on their home televisions.
“TMTG plans to expand its streaming options as the rollout continues, focusing on news, Christian content, and family friendly programming,” per the release.
Interestingly, this newest rollout comes amid President Trump’s return to X (formerly Twitter) for an interview Monday, August 12, with Elon Musk. It is unclear if the president’s return to X will conflict with the use of his own platform, Truth Social.
