On July 13, 2024, a bullet ripped through the ear of President Donald J. Trump during a rally speech in Butler, Pennsylvania, sending him to the ground. With blood smeared across his face and Secret Service agents packed tightly around him, he raised a fist, red rivulets dripping down his cheek, and declared, “FIGHT!”
It was probably the most American thing we’ve seen in this country in a long time, and it essentially made President Trump an unbeatable candidate in the 2024 presidential election.
Americans love a fighter. And historically, they tend to rally around a leader who is unfairly attacked. In crisis, the United States has a special way of coming together – anybody who remembers the swell of unbridled patriotism that blossomed in the United States shortly following the September 11 terrorist attacks can attest to that.
Trump’s near-brush with death unified many people. Centrist voters and left-leaning Democrats on the fence about who to vote for were won over. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, announced his endorsement of Trump literally minutes after Trump was shot.
The America First movement has never been so powerful. The contrast between Trump’s raised fist and fighting attitude could not be more dramatic when compared against Joe Biden’s obvious confusion and garbled responses during press conferences served up with kid gloves.
This is why the machine has installed Kamala Harris as the Democrat nominee. Had the assassination attempt against Trump been successful – God forbid – Joe Biden would have had an easy ride to a second term. There are no Republican candidates who can replace Trump or have even a tenth of his personality and brand power – a last-minute candidate like Nikki Haley, for example, would have politically Kamikazed the Republican Party once and for all.
Trump’s survival – much to their obvious chagrin – guaranteed a Democrat loss by landslide margins. Thus, Biden has been forced out and replaced with Harris.
Harris is a worse candidate than Biden. She’s incredibly unlikable. She can’t hold an intellectual conversation with the press. She is trying to promise a bigger and brighter tomorrow to Americans who are currently crushed under the administration that she is a part of right now.
It’s insanity – lunacy, even. And yet they’ve pushed her hard. And, suddenly, the polls have ever-so-slightly swung in a more favorable direction for the Democrats. Some call it a honeymoon phase.
I call it dirty.
I’ve never met a Kamala Harris supporter in the real world, so I can’t say much about her popularity. I know Joe Biden is terribly disliked, and I know Harris dropped out of the 2020 Democrat presidential primary in 2019 with a dismal 3 percent of support.
A recent poll from RMG Research surveying national general election likely voters found that Trump and Harris were tied at a statistical dead heat – 49 percent against 49 percent.
Polymarket’s betting odds have also suddenly tied Trump and Harris at 49 and 49 percent.
None of this makes sense. Harris is part of the ticket that Americans have broadly rejected – and yet, somehow, those same Americans are embracing Harris simply because she is now at the top of the ticket rather than the bottom?
“Sometimes it is lonely being an independent pollster with integrity,” wrote Rasmussen Reports on X this week.
“Trump is beating Kamala Harris. Just like he was beating Biden (remember the numbers said she polled worse than him for four years?)[,]” they added.
Head pollster Mark Mitchell remarked during a video analysis looking at Real Clear Politics aggregation of polls that even if the numbers are accurate, it’s still a sign of a “collapse” for the Democrat party.
Case in point: that same aggregation had Joe Biden winning by over 6 points at the same time in the election cycle in 2020, and it had Clinton winning by over 7 points in 2016.
Clinton lost in 2016, and Joe Biden only “won” in 2020 because thousands of mail-in-ballots were counted after Election Day. Dispute this if you want, but the prolonged vote-counting period is how Biden got his foot in the door.
In other words, the polls got it wrong twice. The question is: where do these pollsters get their information from? How many real, average Americans with families who are being crushed by inflation and frightened by the raging illegal immigration crisis are actually being surveyed?
The slight polling bump for Democrats is so minute that it seems to set the stage for a narrative like this: “Well, Trump was popular but Kamala just won by a couple of points.” Of course, this will be said amidst truckloads of mail-in-ballots coming in, possibly, for days – just like we saw last time.
Remember, Democrats only have to win by a small margin to maintain control of the White House.
Step 1: Install a Democrat primary nominee who didn’t get a single primary vote herself.
Step 2: The polls swing 1-2 points in Democrats’ favor – just enough to sew doubt in the minds of Republican voters, causing suppression and energizing more leftwing voters.
Step 3: Dig into mail-in-voting and early voting. Don’t discount Democrats’ grassroots ground game. They will bank many early votes and they will do it by the thousands.
Step 4: Eek out a small win by selling the obvious untruth that Americans were ready to embrace an even MORE radical administration than the last one.
Don’t be discouraged by this. Recognize it for what it is. Democrats play dirty. They installed a candidate at the last minute, without regard for the process of the primary, to gain brownie points with voters. This is an outstanding but malicious strategy, and it’s one that Republicans need to face and accept rather than run away from.
This is our year to stop the devastation that has befallen America, and that means STOP looking at the polls. Stop looking at the narrative from the media and the videos of Harris-Walz rallies. Stay mission focused on the message of making America great again. We can bank our own votes, too!
The Republican Party, under the leadership of Michael Whatley and Lara Trump, are working hard to ensure people are early voting, mail-in-voting, and just VOTING in general this year. We have to be competitive.
Don’t lose sight of the end goal: saving America from destruction.
