Special Book Review by Paul Leslie |

There are few people who can rightly be called legends, and among them are the American presidents — of which five are alive today. However, not every president reaches the level of legend.

Donald J. Trump is both a legend and a president, only the second to serve a non-consecutive term. He’s also lived the kind of life most people only dream of. He’s encountered virtually everyone in popular culture. He’s also a man of considerable correspondence.

Letters to Trump is the second book in the ‘Trump Collection’

Letters to Trump is the second book in the “Trump Collection” from Winning Team Publishing. It’s even more captivating than Our Journey Together, the inaugural title. Letters to Trump is a fascinating chance to delve into the personal and public correspondence of the 45th and 47th president.

An impressive book in size and content

It was an opportune time to read Letters to Trump as we’re now single digits from America’s Ultimate Inauguration. I had more than a few realizations as I turned the 320 pages. Like the volume that preceded it, the book is impressive in stature, something you could display on a coffee table.

President Trump understands the value in preserving worthwhile things, and the importance of the letter-writing tradition. It’s why he’s saved thousands of letters. Two of his personal executives were undoubtedly spellbound by his incredible postal artifacts and suggested what would become Letters to Trump, a luxury book and keepsake.

Read letters to and from the all-time giants of our time

So, what will you find in the book? Letters from the all-time giants of modern times, and that’s no exaggeration. You see a bit of everything, from Queen Elizabeth II to Shaquille O’Neal. A fascinating life indeed!

A letter from President Richard M. Nixon starts the book and, sure enough, you’ll see letters from all the presidents, even former President Bill Clinton, whom Trump says he likes. You’ll also see letters from all the greats of entertainment: Bob Hope, the movie icon Jack Nicholson, as well as all-time greats of the American Songbook: Paul Anka and Tony Bennett.

You’ll also see warm, jovial letters from TV’s Regis Philbin, who lovingly gave Trump the nickname “The Trumpster,” and had him on his speed dial. If anyone could bestow a nickname like that, it was Regis.

I also learned about figures I was less familiar with, but recognized the name, like lawyer Roy Cohn and business magnate Jack Welch.

The book is a testament to the power of good communication

On the surface, this book may seem like it’s just an entertaining journey through the late 20th century and early 21st century, but I’m here to say it’s much more.

It’s exciting to see the handwritten notes, impressive letterheads from the most celebrated people of our time, but Letters to Trump can also teach you plenty. I’m someone who’s always been fascinated by communication, and you can learn so much about communication from President Donald J. Trump.

I’ve accomplished incredible things through picking up a pen and expressing my honest intentions. Reading Letters to Trump only strengthens my belief in the power of a great letter.

Getting a letter from Trump will always be significant

It may surprise you how warm the letters from Trump are. If you’re open to reasonable dialogue, he’s very amiable. However, if you try to hit him, he’ll respond in kind.

It was fascinating to see how he responded to late night host David Letterman. At least he lets people know where they stand.

Summer Lane can testify to the man’s generosity.

“Receiving correspondence from any president is exciting, but receiving something from a once-in-a-century figure like President Donald Trump is another thing entirely,” the editor of Write Revolution News said recently in a statement to The Paul Leslie Hour.

Lane went on: “It is the highlight of my career to have gotten ‘letters from Trump,’ and it’s a testament to just how friendly and warm he is as a leader.”

Even your humble reviewer can testify that receiving a written word of encouragement from President Trump is a special thing indeed.

At the end of the day, he is one man. Countless things and people pull his attention into many directions, but his aim has always been to create connection and good communication.

Trump has accomplished both through live events, on radio and television, and now through the new pioneer of social media. But, isn’t there something special about getting something you can hold? President Trump thinks so.
The book ends with a letter from Trump to you — the reader.

Letters to Trump is an up-close look at the man and his life

I recommend Letters to Trump because it shows a part of the man that is not always examined and certainly isn’t displayed by the legacy media. You can see so much into a person by what they put down on paper. What you write just may endure, and this book is a testament to that.

Letters to Trump is your chance to get an up-close view of President Donald J. Trump’s letters, both those he received and more than a few that he penned.

President Donald John Trump is an American original, and on the page, as in life, there will never be another like him.
