President Donald Trump’s political comeback on Election Day 2024 has shaken the nation – and the world – to its very core in the best way possible, and world leaders are falling in line to congratulate America’s incoming leader, while several American leaders have remained oddly silent.
“Congratulations on history’s greatest comeback! Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America,” Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu said in a joint statement with his wife, Sara.
Remarkably, President Trump also won the popular vote for the first time – a massive mandate from the American people on their support for a return to American greatness.
Ukrainian President Vololdymyr Zelensky extended his congratulations to Trump. He wrote, “I am looking forward to personally congratulating President Trump and discussing ways to strengthen Ukraine’s strategic partnership with the United States.”
United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer congratulated Trump today, as well, stating that he was “looking forward to working with you in the years ahead.”
India Prime Minister Narenda Modi further said he had a “great conversation” with President Trump and congratulated him on a “spectacular victory.”
Other world leaders congratulating the 45th president and 47th president-elect so far include:
- French President Emmanuel Macron: “Ready to work together as we did it for four years. With your convictions and mine. With respect and ambition. For more peace and prosperity.”
- Hungary Prime Minister Viktor Orban: “The biggest comeback in US political history! …A much needed victory for the World!”
- El Salvador Nayib Bukele: “May God bless you and guide you.”
- Republic of Turkey President Tayyip Erdogan: “I congratulate my friend Donald Trump, who won the presidential election in the United States after a great struggle and was re-elected as the President of the United States.”
Former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama have remained odiously silent in their congratulations. To his credit, former President George W. Bush issued a congratulatory message to Trump early this morning: “I congratulate President Trump on his election as 47th President of the United States of America, as well as Vice President-elect J.D. Vance and their families,” he said.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Kamala Harris had reportedly called President Trump and conceded the race. She is expected to make a brief concession speech this evening at 6:00 p.m. ET.
