Republicans are close to securing a knockout blow to the regime on Wednesday following President Trump’s victorious landslide win on Election Day, which also included Republicans successfully regaining control of the Senate.
As of Wednesday morning, the balance of power in the House of Representatives was still in flux. According to the Associated Press, more than 100 races were yet to be called, but whether Democrats or Republican capture the majority really comes down to just a handful of seats.
At 11:31 a.m. ET, Decision Desk HQ projected Republicans had a 79 percent chance of maintaining their control of the House.
Things have looked positive for Republicans so far. Republican Congressman Kevin Kiley of California won his re-election yesterday in the state’s 3rd Congressional District, ensuring that seat stays firmly red.
Key congressional seats may come down to California, which, according to the AP, could “take weeks” to count their votes.
It’s unclear why it’s taking so long to call some of these key races, but if Republicans maintain control of the House, this will give President Trump’s second incoming administration the power to swiftly and efficiently pass much-needed legislation on critical issues like nationwide election integrity reform.
