President Donald Trump cast his ballot today in Palm Beach, Florida, alongside First Lady Melania Trump, where he took a few questions from the press and discussed the current developments of Election Day as it unfolds.

“I feel very confident,” he said. “We went in with a very big lead today, it looks like Republicans have shown up in force – so we’ll see how it turns out.”

President Trump said the nation was in “great trouble” and reiterated his belief that this destruction has driven people to get out and vote.

“I think people saw that, and it just seems that the conservatives are voting very powerfully,” he said.

When it came to the timeline of the election, the president was more ambiguous, due to the chaotic vote-counting processes in key swing states.

“This election should be over [tonight], and frankly, if they’d use paper ballots this would be over by 10 o’clock,” he commented.

President Trump said, “I’m hearing in Pennsylvania they won’t have an answer [for] two, three days from now – if that’s the case.”

He also mentioned he had heard chatter that it may take a “long time” to certify the election results. This, of course, is upsetting to many voters who would rest much easier just getting the election over with on Election Day.

“We’re up by a lot but we won’t hear a final number for a long time,” Trump said.

He continued, “In normal times I would go over to the convention center [tonight]…but I just don’t know, it looks like we have a very substantial lead…we have a bigger vote, that means we’re doing very well.”

President Trump said he believed this third presidential campaign was likely the “best” of his candidacies. One inflammatory reporter asked President Trump if he would ask his supporters to remain peaceful and refrain from violence during these election processes.

“My supporters are NOT violent people,” Trump said. He said he obviously didn’t want anyone to get violent.

The president added, “These are great people, these are people that believe in NO violence, unlike your question – you believe in violence.”

President Trump said he hadn’t prepared a speech in the event that he is declared the winner tonight, and said he already knew what he was going to say if it were to happen.

He did have an important message for Republicans getting out to vote today: “STAY IN LINE.”

The president seemed wistful when discussing the close of his campaign. When asked if he would be “done” if he were to lose, he replied, “I would think so…[I’d be] sad and very fulfilled…I think we’re going to have a big victory today.”
